Last house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for sale.

Circular Sun House, also known as Norman Lykes’ house, will soon be available for auction. The building, just before his death in 1959, was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright himself. The house is located on the outskirts of Phoenix in Arizona, USA. It was built by John Rattenbury, Wright’s student, and then thoroughly renovated in the 1990s. The building has characteristic round and streamlined shapes. Frank Lloyd Wright carefully sketched the whole construction, chose the construction site and designed the furniture (which will also be used by the future owner) and other buildings.

Inside we have a large living room with a fireplace, a multimedia room, two home offices and a round kitchen with lots of cabinets and shelves, stainless steel worktops and windows in the form of a crescent moon. The three bedrooms offer a wonderful view of the nearby nature reserve and the city. There are night tables, armchairs and cabinets invented by Wright. There is a round patio and a pool, also in the shape of a crescent moon. It is lined with tiles with a pearly sheen.

The auction led by Heritage Auctions will take place on October 16th.
